VIG Slim

3TL + V + 3T

6.2mm Total · Slimmest Available Configuration

The "Slim" profile — VIG Horizon's answer to the heritage restoration market. At 6.2mm total thickness, this configuration slips into the glazing rebate of virtually any pre-1946 sash window frame in Canada without structural modification, without frame replacement, and without heritage board objection.

Conventional double IGU at 20–28mm total would require reglazed sash, altered profiles, and likely heritage designation reconsideration. The 3TL+V+3T makes that entirely unnecessary while delivering thermal performance that a single pane cannot approach.

4TL + V + 4T

8.2mm Total · TÜV Rheinland U=0.40 Confirmed

The most specified VIG Horizon configuration — and the only single glazing unit in this thickness class that meets Ontario Step Code 5 without triple IGU weight, frame depth, or cost. The 4TL+V+4T is the direct answer to the Canadian high-performance glazing market's core problem.

With D80 double silver Low-E and the micro-dot pillar system, this configuration delivers U=0.40 W/m²K — independently confirmed by TÜV Rheinland (Report CN25TTIK-002, September 2025). At 8.2mm total versus 32–44mm for triple IGU, it fits conventional frame systems at significantly lower structural and dead-load impact.

5TL + V + 5T

10.2mm Total · Max 1900 × 2800mm · Large Format

Engineered for large commercial applications where panel area exceeds what the 4+V+4 maximum allows. The larger glass substrate (5mm) increases structural stiffness and allows the maximum panel size to extend to 1900×2800mm — covering virtually all commercial curtain wall and commercial window unit sizes.

The 5+V+5 maintains Step Code 5 compliance at U=0.44, with D80 Low-E as standard recommendation. The larger pillar spacing (40mm) reduces visible spacer points per unit area — optimal for commercial clear-glass applications where optical quality is critical.

6TL + V + 6T

12.2mm Total · Maximum Structural Performance

The maximum structural configuration — 6mm fully tempered glass on both faces provides the highest resistance to wind load, impact, and pressure differential of any VIG Horizon panel. Designed for high-rise and exposed coastal applications where glass deflection under wind load must be minimised.

At U=0.42 W/m²K, the 6+V+6 remains firmly within Step Code 5 requirements while providing the structural properties of a unit twice its total weight in conventional laminated or heat-strengthened glazing. Same maximum panel size as the 5+V+5 at 1900×2800mm.
