Safety Glazing Certification
SGCC® #9744 · F26

SGCC® — The Foundation
of Canadian Code Compliance

The Safety Glazing Certification Council (SGCC) is the independent certification body whose listing is required for glazing installed in hazardous locations under all Canadian provincial building codes. Certificate #9744, covering Leadus Technology's fully tempered vacuum insulated glass, carries the COMP+CAN designation — which means it has been tested and certified against both US and Canadian standards simultaneously.

For building inspectors, permit departments, and code compliance officers across Ontario, Quebec, and every province, SGCC #9744 COMP+CAN is the document that confirms VIG Horizon glass meets CAN/CGSB 12.1-2022 — the Canadian safety glazing standard referenced by the NBC, OBC, QBC, and all provincial codes.

A copy of the current certificate is included in every VIG Horizon specification package and with every shipment.

Tempered Glass — European Standard Verification
TÜV Rheinland · EN 12150 Test Report

TÜV Rheinland — Tempered Glass
strength & safety, independently verified.

Beyond the North American SGCC certification, Leadus Technology's fully tempered base glass has been independently tested by TÜV Rheinland Shanghai against the European tempered glass standards. This is supplementary evidence of tempering quality that many international specifiers and European-trained architects working in Canada specifically request.

The report covers fragmentation behaviour, four-point bending strength, and impact resistance — the three physical properties that determine whether tempered glass performs safely under stress. Results support the mechanical integrity claims for VIG's tempered lites.

Useful for European-standard tenders, PHPP-focused Passive House projects, and any specification package where dual-standard evidence strengthens the compliance file.

Insulating Glass Certification
IGCC® #6076 · VG Designation

IGCC® — Seal Durability
for the Vacuum Bond

The Insulating Glass Certification Council (IGCC) / IGMA seal durability certification verifies that an insulating glass unit construction — including vacuum units — meets the seal longevity requirements of ASTM E2190. The VG designation on Certificate #6076 specifically covers vacuum insulating glass unit construction, confirming that Leadus Technology's seal quality and vacuum retention have been independently certified.

IGCC certification is requested by architects, specifiers, and institutional owners who need assurance that an IGU's edge seal will perform for the rated period. For VIG, where the edge seal is the hermetic barrier maintaining the vacuum, this certification is particularly meaningful.

Independent Thermal Performance
TÜV Rheinland · CN25TTIK-002

TÜV Rheinland — The U-Value
That Closes the Spec

TÜV Rheinland is one of the world's foremost independent testing laboratories — and the organization whose thermal performance testing is most widely accepted by Canadian building scientists, PHPP modellers, and energy code compliance officers. Report CN25TTIK-002, issued September 8, 2025 by TÜV Rheinland Shanghai, confirms U=0.40 W/m²K for the 4TL+V+4T configuration with D80 Double Silver Low-E coating.

This is the test result that makes VIG Horizon's Step Code 5 claim verifiable, not theoretical. It was tested using EN 673:2011 methodology and calculated using WINDOW7 software under NFRC 100-2010 environmental conditions — the same combination accepted by Canada's National Building Code and provincial Step Code programs.

VIG Horizon includes a copy of this report in all specification packages for net-zero, Step Code 5, and Passive House projects.

Long-Term Performance — Aging Test
Durability Test · GB/T 38586-2020

Aging & Durability Testing —
ΔU = 0 across all samples.

The question every fabricator and building owner asks about vacuum insulated glass: will the seal hold? Will the performance drift? Three VIG samples were subjected to accelerated aging protocols — UV radiation exposure, weather cycling, and high/low-temperature chamber testing — over a seven-month period (April to November 2025) at the China Testing & Certification International laboratory.

The U-value change measured after the aging cycle: zero. All three samples passed the requirement of GB/T 38586-2020, confirming that Leadus VIG maintains its declared thermal performance through the stress cycles this Chinese national standard defines.

Honest caveat: GB/T 38586-2020 is a Chinese national standard, not a Canadian or ASTM freeze-thaw protocol. Its exact temperature bounds and cycle counts differ from what you'd apply to model an Ottawa or Winnipeg winter. It is genuinely positive evidence of aging-resistance, but it complements rather than replaces the ASTM E2190 seal-durability evidence carried by IGCC #6076. Both together tell the full story.

ISO Triple Certification — Quality, Environment, Safety

Leadus Technology holds current ISO triple certification issued June 2026 and valid to June 2029, covering quality management (ISO 9001), environmental management (ISO 14001), and occupational health & safety (ISO 45001). All three certificates cover tempered glass, insulated glass, and vacuum glazing production at the Hebei manufacturing facility.

For institutional procurement, tender submissions, and government contracts in Canada, ISO 9001 in particular is often a required supplier gate before technical specs are even evaluated. All three current certificates are available for direct download below.
